P90X Review Of week 3!

by John on February 18, 2010

So it’s day 21 and it really has been a great week! Valentines day was this week and Ashley and I went away for a night but, still manged to get our workouts in. We did go a little off diet for one night and had some Valentines day chocolates. We have also became more active in the last few weeks. Just this week alone we went hiking 3 times. One of those times was up in the snow just north of Sedona AZ. The other times were down just north of Phoenix AZ in 75 degree weather. You really can’t beat the weather this time a year in AZ and it feels great to do a little extra workouts here and there.

This weeks P90X workouts were the same as last weeks but with one big change. Almost every workout both Ashley and I have improved greatly in. The first few workouts were hard and some times very frustrating. Kempo-X flat out pissed me off the first time I did. I’m normally a very coordinated person but, Kempo-X was very hard to stay in rhythm. I looked like a fish out of water during the first workout. Fast forward to workout number 3 and I look like I have been doing it for years. The workouts are still very fun and now we are starting to play music in the background to help us workout even harder.

So with 3 weeks down and improvements coming we enter recovery week. Ashley and I both are going to start running this week on top of the P90X workouts. It might be hard at first to be working out twice a day, but both of us are starting to get ready for some long distances runs we want to do. We both will be running in the Pat Tilman’s Run which honors Pat Tillman and should be a great event. So with recovery week here and both of us seeing great results, I can’t wait till next week and the start of Phase 2. The biggest thing I’m looking forward to is the change in the Phase 2 diet. We will be able to eat more carbs on the phase 2 diet then the phase 1 and I love my carbs.

Keep up the good work. I'm glad to see someone hitting the P90X as hard as I have. I'm almost done with my cycle though and am looking for some new ideas on things to start. I was thinking Insanity. I'd like to hear what suggestions you have for me. Btw…nice job on the Kempo-X!
