P90X Review| Equipment That You Need To Start P90X!

by John on March 9, 2010

P90X is a home workout program so you really don’t need a gym worth of equipment to get a great workout. With that being said if you want your workouts to go as smooth as possible watch this video and see some useful equipment that you can use.

So here is a list of what you need for P90X

  • Pull-up/Chin-up bar
  • Dumbells/Bands
  • Yoga/Exercise mat
  • Chair/Stool
  • Push-up stands
  • Yoga blocks
  • Heart monitor

This is basically what you need. Now everyone has different amounts of money that they can spend on equipment so there really is no right or wrong answer on what will work best for you. P90X will work by just hittingĀ  play and doing the work. You don’t need all of this equipment to get great results. Yes it does help but, if you don’t have the money it’s time to get creative and make it work.

OK P90X Veterans lets hear it. Post in the comments what equipment has worked for you and what is a waste of money!

This list is basically spot on. I do not have a Yoga mat, but I tell myself I will buy one everytime I do yoga and stretches since I slide too much on the carpet. I also do not have the P90X pushup stands since I had purchased some “Perfect Pushups” ages ago. If I could do it over I would just get the pushup bars though as they can be used for the wide pushups much easier. If you are new to P90X you will probably want to start with 5lb 15lb and 25lb dumbells and that should get you through most of the workouts fairly well. I would also advise against the fancy bowflex dumbells, they are clunky and VERY WIDE.
